Non-Combustible Materials for Walls

SUPAWOOD offers a range of non-combustible materials suitable for use in non-combustible wall construction, including:

  • Extruded aluminium wall and ceiling systems
  • Non-combustible panels tested to AS 1530.1

These systems are designed for use in applications where a non-combustible wall or cladding is required under NCC 2022.

NCC 2022 Requirements for Non-Combustible Walls

Under NCC 2022 Volume One Clause C2D10, certain building elements must be non-combustible, including external walls and components incorporated within those walls in Type A and Type B construction.

SUPAWOOD systems support compliance with these requirements through:

  • Aluminium systems that are deemed non-combustible
  • Panel systems tested to AS 1530.1 non-combustible criteria

Fire hazard properties may also apply under Specification 7 depending on the application.

Non-Combustible Wall System Options

Aluminium & Solid Panel Systems for Non-Combustible Walls & Ceilings

ALUCLICK – The Quick Click Aluminium Beam

Frequently Asked Questions About Non-Combustible Products

What is considered a non-combustible wall?

A non-combustible wall is a wall constructed from materials that do not ignite, burn or contribute to fire when tested in accordance with AS 1530.1. Under NCC 2022, certain walls, including external walls in Type A and Type B construction, must be non-combustible.

For a detailed explanation, see:

Can I Use Combustible Products on a Non-Combustible Wall?

In some cases, combustible materials may be permitted as part of a non-combustible wall system under specific NCC concessions, depending on factors such as thickness, location and fire performance.

For a detailed explanation, see:

Compliance Note

Compliance with NCC 2022 depends on the complete wall system, including substrate, fixings, backing materials and overall construction. Project-specific assessment is required to confirm suitability.
