At the heart of Western Australia’s parliamentary precinct, the fit-out of the new 2 Parliament Place brings together multiple parliamentary departments within a purpose-built workplace designed to enhance collaboration, efficiency and security while respecting the significance of the institution it serves. The interior balances the gravitas of Parliament with contemporary functionality, drawing inspiration from the natural colours and materials of Western Australia to create a timeless, professional environment.
Working with Parry & Rosenthal Architects and SHAPE WA, SUPAWOOD supplied the wall linings for the first and second floor Hearing Rooms – spaces where exceptional acoustic performance, refined detailing and lasting durability were essential.
The Hearing Rooms required architectural linings that could support clear speech while delivering a sophisticated timber aesthetic appropriate for one of Western Australia’s most important civic buildings.
SUPAWOOD supplied:
SUPACOUSTIC SP1/80 acoustic wall panels in SUPAFINISH Blackbutt
Custom curved acoustic panels to complement the room geometry
SUPALINE wall panels in SUPAFINISH Blackbutt
The combination of acoustic and decorative linings creates warm, inviting interiors while ensuring the spaces perform as beautifully as they look. Carefully crafted curved panels introduce visual softness and demonstrate SUPAWOOD’s ability to manufacture customised solutions without compromising performance or finish.
Built for Quality
With a high-security government fit-out demanding precision and coordination, quality and reliability were critical throughout the project. SUPAWOOD’s systemised manufacturing and careful packaging ensured the products arrived on site ready for efficient installation.

By combining custom manufacturing with proven acoustic performance, SUPAWOOD helped create Hearing Rooms that reflect the professionalism, dignity and enduring quality expected within Western Australia’s Parliament.
