Nestled in the serene vineyards of Browns Plains, VIC, the Morris Wines Cellar Door and Whiskey Distillery brings together heritage, innovation and exceptional design. Completed last year, this project showcases how SUPAWOOD’s bespoke timber solutions can transform commercial spaces into immersive brand experiences that engage the senses and elevate the atmosphere.
Designed to reflect the character of Morris Wines’ rich legacy in Australian winemaking, the Cellar Door project was led by a team of professionals passionate about delivering design excellence. From concept to completion, the brief called for a balance of warmth, tactility and modern refinement, echoing both the artisanal nature of Morris’ whiskey distillery and its wine tradition.
Visitors experience a space that feels as crafted as the products that the vineyard celebrates — with timber linings that exude character, complement natural stone and steel detailing and offer acoustic calm amid the lively cellar tastings.
Central to the design SUPASLAT, SUPAWOOD’s modular slatted panel system in Virgin Walnut SUPAFINISH, was used extensively throughout the communal and tasting areas, where it provided a striking visual rhythm but also excellent acoustic performance — essential in maintaining a calm and comfortable auditory experience within a bustling cellar door environment.
