SUPAWOOD’s WAFFLE BLADE Ceiling in SUPAFINISH Spotted Gum brings warmth, structure and architectural interest to the staff lunchroom within the Sunshine Coast Airport Management Office.
Designed as a striking feature element, the WAFFLE BLADE system transforms the high ceiling volume by visually lowering and defining the space. The open grid structure breaks up the vertical expanse between floor and ceiling, creating a more intimate and human-scaled environment while maintaining a sense of openness and airflow throughout the room.
The Spotted Gum SUPAFINISH was carefully selected to complement the surrounding joinery, ensuring a cohesive and well-integrated aesthetic. The timber-look finish introduces natural warmth and texture, balancing the contemporary interior palette and enhancing the overall workplace experience for staff.
In addition to its visual impact, the system meets Green Star requirements, supporting the project’s sustainability objectives without compromising on design intent or performance.
This project demonstrates how SUPAWOOD’s WAFFLE BLADE Ceiling system can deliver both functional performance and refined architectural outcomes, elevating everyday workplace environments through thoughtful ceiling design.
