UNSW Auditorium at Liverpool Hospital NSW
Supacoustic PLK panel lining kits proved to be the ideal cost effective upgrade solution for the re-fit of the 280 seat auditorium in the teaching facilities at Liverpool Hospital NSW.
The challenge the architects faced was to find a product that could be matched to the existing panel layout, was aesthetically attractive to enhance the interior as well as improve the noise reverberation. Supawood were called to visit the site to provide expert consultancy to resolve the design problems and recommend the appropriate product to address the design needs.
The existing fabric panels were old and dated and the design team needed a product that would also match other features in the planned interior re-fit design. As well as decorative, the product chosen needed to be economical and acoustically effective. The solution was found in Supacoustic PLK.
The design team chose attractive, durable and low maintenance Supafinish concept veneer in Tasmanian Oak with a wide slot configuration. The panels are creatively stepped up the side walls to follow the stepped seating by effectively using different panel lengths on the bottom row. For enhanced effective acoustics they also chose polyester insulation.
As Supacoustic PLK panel lining kits are a pre-finished panel system for direct fixing, comes in standard sizes with screws and joint backing strips included, specifying and installation is particularly easy to manage making working with Supacoustic PLK exceptionally economical.
All the pluses of this product as well as its acoustic and aesthetic properties have given this re-fit an outstanding end result.
