Stunning sports HQ foyer features lightweight MAXI BEAM.

MAXI BEAM have been used creatively in the fit-out of a warehouse which now houses the NSW Surf Lifesaving headquarters at Belrose. Here MAXI BEAM forms a stunning ceiling and wall feature which welcomes you on entering the building.

MAXI BEAMS will not warp or twist and weigh less than 2kg a lineal meter enabling the designers to cleverly suspend the beams overhead to create a curved floating ceiling into which the lighting is integrated. The beams continue down the wall providing a screen for the stairs and a backdrop to the reception seating area.

The curved edge of the ceiling beams are mirrored by the carpet edge below to define the area while the warm of the SUPAVENEER Blackwood natural timber veneer finish of the beams blends with the rest of the polished wooden floor. As the MAXI BEAM can also be supplied in any custom length it allowed for the effect to also flow through past the reception desk and into the building beyond.

SUPAWOOD advised the designer throughout the design process to arrive at the desired effect of the screen on the wall flowing through to the overhead horizontal beams. This is an excellent example of how MAXI BEAM can be easily worked with and manipulated to achieve a creative effect that enhances and adds atmosphere to an interior.
