Where learning, culture and acoustic performance come together

Today’s learning environments are designed to do more than educate – they foster collaboration, creativity and a sense of belonging. At Marsden Park Anglican College – Stage 5, these principles are brought to life through thoughtfully designed spaces that balance acoustic performance, natural materials and cultural storytelling.
Designed by Alleanza Architecture, constructed by Steve-Watt Constructions and installed by Bright Ceiling Systems, the project creates flexible learning environments that support a variety of teaching styles while delivering warm, inviting interiors.

Throughout the development, SUPAWOOD supplied a range of customised architectural lining systems in SUPAFINISH Tasmanian Oak, providing a consistent timber aesthetic across classrooms, collaborative spaces and feature areas.

Acoustic comfort for modern education

Effective learning begins with environments where students and teachers can communicate clearly.
To achieve this, SUPACOUSTIC Panels were installed throughout the Sound Box and STEM raking ceiling, helping to reduce reverberation and create comfortable spaces for focused learning, discussion and collaboration. The acoustic systems integrate seamlessly into the architecture, demonstrating how performance can be achieved without compromising design.

Complementing the ceilings, SUPALINE Panels were installed to the General Learning Area walls, introducing warmth, texture and durability while reinforcing the cohesive design language throughout the building.

Connection to Country expressed through CREATIV Perf

A defining feature of the project is the bespoke SUPACOUSTIC CREATIV Perf installation within the tiered learning area.

Using precision acoustic perforations, an Indigenous artwork by Saretta Art and Design has been incorporated directly into the feature walls, creating a powerful expression of Connection to Country. Rather than applying artwork as a decorative finish, the design becomes part of the architectural fabric of the building, celebrating culture, storytelling and identity while continuing to deliver exceptional acoustic performance.

The result is a welcoming gathering space that encourages learning and collaboration while acknowledging the enduring connection of Australia’s First Nations peoples to Country. It is a thoughtful example of how architecture can integrate cultural meaning with everyday functionality.

Natural materials, lasting impact

Finished throughout in SUPAFINISH Tasmanian Oak, the architectural linings provide a warm, timeless aesthetic that complements the contemporary learning environment. Together, the acoustic ceilings, decorative wall linings and custom CREATIV Perf feature walls demonstrate how integrated architectural solutions can enhance both the performance and experience of educational spaces.
