The new multipurpose hall at Toowoomba North State School (QLD), officially opens today, 5 November. This significant development delivers a state-of-the-art facility for sports, community events and everyday school-life. It proudly features high performing acoustic linings by SUPAWOOD chosen by Reddog Architects

The hall was developed as part of the Great Schools, Great Future initiative, instituted by the Queensland Department of Education.  Key components of the hall included providing a full-size sports court accommodating basketball, volleyball, badminton, netball and other active-play formats.

Internally, the hall features a curated selection of the SUPAWOOD’s decorative and acoustic panels. The panels utilised throughout the space are from the SUPALINE range specifically designed for high-traffic walls and ceilings, offering outstanding durability and aesthetic flexibility.

For acoustic control, the complementary SUPACOUSTIC system was also specified and thereby providing lab-tested noise control plus stylish finishes. The finish selected was the Victorian Ash SUPAFINISH that delivers the look of premium timber but with the robustness, consistency and low-maintenance benefit of an engineered timber laminate.

This combination strikes a fine balance: warm, natural material character for the school environment with robust performance suited to a multipurpose, high-traffic setting as well as the enhanced acoustic control to support teaching, events and sports.
